THE SMARTEST ANIMAL

Once there was a farmer from Laos. Every morning and every evening, he ploughed his field with his buffalo.
One day, a tiger saw the farmer and his buffalo working in the field. The tiger was very surprised to see a big animal listening to a small animal. The tiger wanted to know more about the big animal and the small animal.
After the man went home, the tiger spoke to the buffalo 1“you are so big and strong. 2Why do you do everything the man tells you?” The buffalo answered; 3“oh, the man is very intelligent”.
The tiger asked; 4“can you tell me how intelligent he is?”. 5“No, I can’t tell you”, said the buffalo; “but you can ask him”
So the next day the tiger asked to the man; 6“Can I see your intelligence?”. But the man answered; 7“it at home”.8“Can you go and get it?” asked the tiger. “Yes” said the man; 9“but I am afraid you will kill my buffalo when I am gone. 10Can I tie you to a tree?”
After the man tied the tiger to the tree, he didn’t go home to get his intelligence. He took his plough and hit the tiger. Then he said; 11“Now you know about my intelligence even you haven’t seen it”.


1. The tiger said that the buffalo was so big and strong.
2. The tiger asked why did the buffalo do everything the man tells the buffalo.
3. The buffalo said that the man was very intelligent.
4. The tiger asked if the buffalo could tell him how intelligent the man was.
5. The buffalo said that he couldn’t tell the tiger but the tiger could ask the man.
6. Tiger asked to the man if the he could see the man’s intelligence.
7. The man answered that it was at home.
8. The tiger asked if the man could go and get it.
9. The man said that he was afraid the tiger will kill his buffalo when he was gone.
10. The man asked if he could tie the tiger to a tree.
11. The man said that then the tiger knew about his intelligence even the tiger hadn’t seen it.
